        There is a $100 deposit that may be waived with a letter of credit from another utility company. With a good payment history after 1 Year your deposit will be credited back to your bill.

        Nashville has one consolidated school system for the entire county. Children 5 years old on or before September 30 (no exceptions), may enter kindergarten. A child must be 6 years old on or before September 30 to enter the first grade

*Automobile/Vehicle Registration - 615-399-8995
        To help control pollution (EPA) each vehicle must pass the Nashville Vehicle Inspection Test before Tennessee license tags are issued. Exempt vehicles: Diesel, those 13 years and older, gross weight over 8500 lbs. Tennessee License Tags are purchased from the County Clerks Office with proof of ownership and$65, title change fees are $8.00. All residents must immediately purchase a $25 Metro Sticker to be displayed on the front windshield.

 A Tennessee Driver's License is issued by the Department of Safety and must be obtained within 90 days of establishing residency. You must have Tennessee tags before applying. Written, vision, and road tests, a photo, and $12.50 to$26.50 fee are required. A valid out-of-state license will exempt the road test. Free handbooks are available at the examining stations: 
                1603 Murfreesboro Road and 6604 Centennial Blvd.
